There is a growing understanding across the nation that “sprawling” development patterns are not in the best interests of our citizens, our country and our environment. The typical suburb infrastructure creates auto dependency and social isolation. Suburban residents spend far too much of their money and lives sitting in a car, driving to work, stores and entertainment. Worse, these developments are built upon, and expand into, precious open land and wilderness.
Gold Hill Mesa is a different kind of community, designed with various aspects of architecture and planning that are part of nationwide movements called Smart Growth and Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND). The goal is to bring the ability to live, work and shop, all right here. |

When walking down the tree-lined streets of an historic, traditional neighborhood there is often a sense of harmony. When a community is environmentally, socially and economically balanced, it just works. Gold Hill Mesa captures this equilibrium and adapts it to serve the needs of our modern residents.
The community master plan includes a mix of public and private uses: over 600 residences and 63 acres of commercial property with retail, restaurants and flexible office suites. Blending residences, businesses and green space in close proximity ultimately builds a strong sense of community. A compact and pedestrian friendly environment encourages citizens to become active, which leads to a healthy lifestyle for individuals and for the neighborhood as a whole. |

Gold Hill Mesa’s use of time-honored architectural styles and landscaping is designed to celebrate the local history and environment. The neighborhood’s diversity stands in stark contrast to many conventional subdivisions. The first thing you may notice is the lively color palette – but the diversity also includes architectural styles, home sizes (ranging from townhomes and patio homes to large single family homes with basements), and price ranges. This variety brings a cross section of the population together and makes the social fabric more interesting and sustainable.
From young to old, families to retirees – a real community is taking shape at Gold Hill Mesa. Pride in ownership and commitment to the evolution of the community is evident in every neighborhood detail. |
